Why do you not specify your service rates?
indigenous works across different sectors and scales. A non-profit is unlikely to have the same budget as a commercial client. Some commissions are driven by costs, while others are driven by values.
If you appreciate the content and values of indigenous, we are happy to discuss costs. We have a base rate for profit and non-profit we can share upon request.
Why does indigenous not show more of its commercial portfolio?
Quite simply, a lot of the work we do involves privacy agreements, or is not public-facing. We respect the terms we enter into, and solely disclose who we work for, and partner with.
To work around this, indigenous invests time and effort to produce open-source Resources and library of Images. This showcases a commitment to our craft, and provides an in-kind entry point for some of the Services we offer.

Why are your Resources licensed by Creative Commons?
All of the Resources indigenous develops are based on common goals — knowledge creation and knowledge transfer. Providing open-source tools is our way of approaching that.
Part of our purpose is to give back what creativity and nature has given us. Rather than marketing for profit, we market in the spirit of offering and reciprocating the values of creativity, with nature as inspiration.
Why did you create the Artist Residency Canvas?
The Artist Residency Canvas is inspired by an accumulation of factors. The motivation behind it is to make creative play as attainable as possible.
The principles of The Business Model Canvas is a reference point, and is licensed under Creative Commons. The Artist Residency Canvas credits this accordingly and is licensed under the same conditions.
Why does the Artist Residency Canvas look like The Business Model Canvas?
The aesthetic of the Artist Residency Canvas is modelled on The Business Model Canvas for visual continuity. Anyone who understands, or has used The Business Model Canvas will recognise it and intuitively know how it works.
Future versions of the canvas may change aesthetically, but for now familiarity makes it more accessible.

Why are your Images licensed by Creative Commons?
indigenous believes in the accessibility of high-resolution, high-quality Images for ecocentric purposes. We decided to give something back, offering an open-source library of Images for non-commercial use.
Creative Commons provides a global standard of copyright licenses with “some rights reserved”. The deeds are easy to use for you, while protecting our rights as content creators.
Why are your Images labelled with Content Credentials?
Content Credentials is an industry-leading verification for digital content. It is designed to authenticate the provenance of an image file, and provide transparency about its editorial history.
The Images we license have tamper-evident digital labels applied to them. So you can trust the authorship, genuineness, and transparency of our open-source library.
What makes your Images different to other libraries?
In an age of instant gratification, social media, artificial intelligence (AI), and a monopoly of image libraries, we take a more considered approach.
We develop studies, rather than representations of nature. Our studies are researched, informed by arts and culture, and carefully crafted.
